"Marilyn fit. Is consistent. I can order these without trying them on and get a perfect fit. The color of these jeans is gorgeous. Rich in color yet mot too bright with a Sophisticated look. I would like both cut, wider leg. Hopefully that will be offered in a Marilyn fit"
"I love the fabric of these jeans but the sizing is wayyyy off. I have ordered 2 sizes now and the larger size was smaller than the smaller size. I ordered a 6 first then the 8. I always wear either of those sizes but both of them were too tight. I really wanted them to work because I do like the fabric. Not sure what the problem is."
"Great fit, very comfortable, and an excellent color. My only personal negative is I have shorter legs than many, and need to shorten them. I don’t like paying an extra $18.00 to the local dry cleaner. I wish these came in a shorter length…not ankle length."
"I absolutely love them. The color is perfect for fall, and the fabric is soft and has just the right amount of stretch. I will definitely be ordering them in more colors. I'm also pleased that the length is good for a tall woman."
"I absolutely love the color and fit of these jeans! I am a non binary guy who enjoys the feminine look of these jeans, and one of my female friends told me that I look great in them! I will definitely be purchasing more of your jeans in different colors!"
"I am 5'8 and weigh 145 pounds. Purchased a size 10 and they fit perfectly! Extremely comfortable pant that gives as you move. Will definitely purchase again in different colors."
"I love the color grey. They fit well. I have been wearing NYDJ for many years because they are very comfortable and don’t stretch out. The free shipping is great, they actually came 2 days earlier than expected."
"5 stars. LO❤️VE how it feels to wear the color as well as the fit. It moves with me and goes with so much, it expands my wardrobe while enhancing my figure! I’ve gotten compliments and wearing these pants helps boost my confidence in looking great in casual and nicer than casual settings. I love how wearing these pants I can look great in and dance in and hike in and even some yoga, or be comfy while doing the office admin work. My new favorite pants!"
"Love these pants. Fit is fantastic, they feel like they were made to fit for me. I'm usually a size 2 or 4, I sized down and the 2 fits perfectly. The color goes with everything. I'm 5'6" 136Lbs with an athletic, swimmers body."
"I love the style of the Marilyn straight jeans. The newer reviews said to order a smaller size so I did and the jeans fit perfectly. I have 4 pairs, but the first 3 older ones are a little large so I will continue to get the smaller size."
The Marilyn Straight has a slightly higher rise and a clean straight leg that elongates the silhouette. It's cut true to size for most customers, with our signature Lift Tuck® Technology panel built into the waistband and seat to smooth and support without changing the fit through the leg. If you're between sizes, size down for a more fitted look through the hip or size up for extra ease.
Lift Tuck® is NYDJ's proprietary inner construction — a hidden shaping panel sewn into the waistband and seat that lifts, tucks, and smooths the tummy and rear without the bulk of external shapewear. It's built into the jean itself, so there's nothing extra to wear underneath.
Check the size chart on this page for the exact waist/hip measurements for this style. As a general guide: size down for a closer, more tailored fit.
The Missy/Regular Marilyn is cut for average height (typically 5'4"–5'8"). If you need a shorter or longer inseam, see our Marilyn Petite or Marilyn Tall collections, which use the same silhouette re-graded for different heights.
Machine wash cold, inside out, with like colors. Avoid high heat in the dryer — tumble low or hang dry — since excess heat breaks down the elastane fibers and reduces stretch recovery over time. Skip fabric softener, which coats the fibers and dulls stretch performance.
Yes. The Marilyn Straight is produced using earth-friendly methods that reduce consumption of water, chemicals, and energy compared to conventional denim processing.
